We welcome the submission of abstracts from worldwide experts in diabetes and metabolism.

The abstract submission of the ICDM 2012 operates based on 100% online system and there are two types of presenting research [Oral / Poster]. All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific program committee and the secretariat will inform submitters of the results via email. Note that the committee may change the preferred presentation type of papers in order to effectively organize the program.

Authors must register and attend the meeting – A presenting author’s registration must be done by 26 September. After the date, the committee will reject the papers of those who have not registered.

**If you want to make onsite registration, inform the secretariat (diabetes@kams.or.kr) in case your research will not be included in the book and program.

	All abstracts should be written in English through the website (Faxed abstracts will not be accepted).
	The length of the abstract is limited to 300 words. Not including titles, authors’ name and affiliation.
	The text should be arranged according to the following structured format: Objective-Methods-Results-Conclusion.
	Authors may further edit and modify submitted abstracts until the submission deadline. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that their text does not contain types or grammatical errors.
	Authors have the option of choosing their presentation type (oral or poster). However, the scientific program committee will make the final decision.

 Abstracts for oral presentation or poster exhibition related to the following categories are invited:

	Islet biology & insulin secretion / immunology & transplantation
	Insulin action & obesity
	Clinical diabetes & therapeutics
	Epidemiology & genetics
	Acute & chronic complication
	Behavioral medicine & education

The ICDM 2012 offers travel grants to support researchers who want to take part in the conference with gaining experience – abstract submission. The scientific program committee will select recipients for ‘Travel grant’ among outstanding abstract submissions.

	Selection criteria
	Only overseas applicants will be considered. Applicants must take part in with abstract submission(s) and present their research at the meeting Applicants must be under the age of 45 years.
	Funding
	Each recipient will be provided with USD 500 in cash at the Korean Diabetes Association’s booth during the meeting. A copy of passport is needed.
	Application method
	Check the box ‘Apply for Travel Grant’ when submitting the abstract online.
	Results
	The secretariat will send the decision of the program committee by email.
